We are open from 7.15am to 6.30pm Monday to Friday 51 weeks of the year (We are closed for 1 week over Christmas and for all Bank Holidays)
We offer sessional, part time and full time hours for all age groups (except in baby room we do not offer sessional options, we only offer part and full time care)
We participate in both the ECCE (Free preschool year) and the CETS programme. Under the ECCE (Free preschool year) each child in Ireland is entitled to 1 free year (3 hours per day for 38 weeks of the year) in a preschool setting. We offer this free preschool year in both our Montessori yr 1 and 2 classes. Children must be aged between 3 yrs and 2 months and 4 yrs and 7 months on the September of the relevant year to be eligible.
Under the CETS programme parents who are availing of certain training courses are entitled to a certain amount of funding towards their childcare costs in crèches that are registered under the CETS programme. Please contact us directly for more details.
Our toddler room caters for up to 16 toddlers and also has a separate nappy change/ toilet training area. Our toddler room also has direct access out to the outdoor play area. The ratio in the toddler room is 1:6
We have 2 very large Montessori class rooms upstairs. Both classes cater for up to 22 children. The ratio in the Montessori rooms varies from 1:8 to 1:11 depending on the class running. While children upstairs do not have direct access to the outdoor play area from their classroom they have scheduled time slots throughout the day to use the outdoor area, weather permitting!
We run a breakfast club in the mornings from 7.15 am to 8.45am. We currently drop to Gaelscoil Ros Eo in the mornings (Sep 13) and we collect from local schools in the afternoon (Sep 13- Gaelscoil Ros Eo, Rush National School, St. Catherine’s and Rush and Lusk Educate Together) We have a separate ‘chill out’ afterschool room which caters for up to 11 children.
All children attending Tadpoles have daily access to our outdoor play area. Our garden is safety surfaced and has a climbing frame to suit all ages and has lots of appropriate equipment and toys to keep all age groups entertained.
Entry and exit from our building is controlled by CCTV and we have CCTV in all of our care rooms. We also have controlled internal entry and exit points and intercom systems in the building so that no person can enter or exit the building without the knowledge of the staff members. Children are signed in and out each day and a detailed application form ensures there are procedures in place if anyone other than the child’s parents are due to collect them.
Parents must complete a detailed application procedure so that staff are aware of each child’s medical history and any special needs they may have. Each child has a daily record sheet which goes home with them every evening. The record sheet details each child’s sleep, meals, nappy changes/ toileting, medical administration and activities daily.
